Being a tourist is one of the most demanding activities. I say that with no shame as it requires tremendous amounts if commitment, preparation, organisation and simply effort! No one can seriously call him/herself a traveler without having felt on regular basis his/her legs dropping off! Barcelona is a beautiful town and exploring the Monjuic park as we did, walking around the Miro museum, claimbing up the hill to admire city views from the castle has been as fantastic as it was shattering. To keep on going the next day one needs a relax and I found just the perfect place. Aire de Barcelona is one if the town's best kept secrets. The Arabs have been inspired by the Romans to indulge in bathing. They have taken over this tradition and perfected it. As soon as you enter the building the atmosphere takes you... Scented candles, solid exotic wood furnitures, dimmed lights peace and quiet. The Banos are extreamly luxurious and yet traditional. We are far away from the modernist all white spas... This is a travel through time. You can choose to simply enjoy the bathes ( about 7 of the, salty water, jacuzzy, pool, cold water, hot water steam room...) or indulge in a massage. The most traditional one is the black soap body peal. In North Africa in public Hammam women give it to each other on the war floor of the steam rooms. At Aire de Barcelona you will get a more refined version of this relaxing exfoliation. I recommend it to anyone as much for the relaxation as for the beauty of the place and the excellence of its mint tea!
