A Pizza, straight from Corsica!

You thought the best Pizzas were Italian? Think again! Opened earlier this year Papacionu is the second restaurant bearing this name. The first Papacionu ever opened is in Ajaccio! After a tremendous success the chef Christophe Alain has decided to take over Paris (how very Napoleonic of him!). They chose a place in the trendy 9eme on rue Carnot, adding their Corsican touch to the good vibes and the village feel of this little street.

The menu consists of a vast choice of pizzas. But before you even consider a main course I strongly advise to start with the apéro. Corsican wine, Corsican beer and of course the unique and delicious Corsican charcuterie! Served in generous portions this platter is well worth its price.

The pizzas are exquisite! I dare you to finish a whole one! You are served on wooden boards half a pizza (diameter 50cm) the paste is thin and crispy and you will find the classic on the menu alongside the house's specials.

Everything is fresh, tasty, and the place has a very trendy feel (ceiling made of glasses, high wooden tables, hand painted ceramic on the floor, a large bar...). Service is also great! The waiters were actually from Corsica and spoke of their homeland with pride and nostalgia. Travel whilst you eat!
