If I had to name one place I changed my mind about it's Zucca. I pass in front of the restaurant daily on my way to work and every time I find myself thinking what a cold, characterless place and yet, on my way back from work it is always packed! To be honest from the outside it really is nothing special. A tiny sign on a modern slightly heartless building, big grey framed windows and modern white and metal chairs whit a view of an open kitchen. I simply could not understand what the appeal was as Italian food to me rimes with warmth and conviviality, so I decided to investigate. As we entered the restaurant I started to warm up to the place. The large display of wines, the wooden floor, the orange paintings and the zuccinies (pumkins) turned the temperature up straight away. So did the friendly staff. It is pleasant to be served by waiters who know their job, have an available manager and a sommelier that does not try to sell you the priciest bottle but the one that would be to your taste and marry itself beautifully with the food. Speaking of the food the menu is as short as the wine list is long. Dishes are of a delicate simplicity, stylishly presented and full of flavor. Wine by the glass is generously served and meals are accompanied with exquisite olive oil (that you can buy) and a good selection of Italian bread. The only set back was that I was left wanting more! But this might just be my natural greed...
