Shaka Zulu - S.A. at the heart of Camden!

I cannot beleive that it has already been a year... Last February I was happilly driving through the bush, watching elephants fight, girafes sun tan and lions sleep. In order to keep the memory alive I found one of the  coolest South African restaurants in the whole of Britain! The Shaka Zulu named after the Zulu great king has an incredible atmosphere and fantastic food and wine. Located at the heart of Camden on of the coolest district in London this is the place to go for a great meal and a night out.
As you go down  the escalator you enter a whole new world. Africa here we are! This underground world is full of warrior statues, wild animals and african furnitures. Every detail has been thought of to make your experience unique. I must admit that there is a certain Disneyland feel to the place. On the first floor you will find the main bar and a lounge area, as you go down the magnificent stairs you enter the restaurant. Start your meal with the cured meats they are a well known African speciality and the chewing will occupy you until the real treats arrive. Zebra, crocodile, ostrich, you name it! All sorts of meats to choose from all ectra fresh directly shipped from S.A. I am not sure that the Zulus were great wine producers but S.A. has now some of the finest wines and the Shaka Zulu presents you with a long wine list to choose from, pricey but delicious...
You might think the night is coming to an end but don't be so sure! The restaurant turns into a nightclub on weekends with Zulu dressed dancers and music to which you cannot resit dancing to. The magic cocktail card will help you forget all inibitions. It is as exotic as the menu if not more and you will have the priviledge of tasting the first meat cockatil in your life. It's tastier than it sounds I promise!
