Wine by One

'Connaisseurs en devenir', wannabe someliers here is the place to train your talent, to explore, to make your taste buds travel trough sunny countries and enjoy memorable moments. Wine by One is a new concept winery in Paris.
This time I have to admit that I was a bit late to find this hidden gem. I am sure many wine lovers will already have experienced this fantastic concept. As a matter of fact I ran into the concept wine bar on rue de Marignan only to be told that it had opened last summer and that a first store near the très chic Place Vendôme was open even before that!
So idea is simple: not everyone like the same wine. Buying a bottle is therefore always a compromise. Fine wine is not exactly cheap and you are therefore less likely to dare trying something new as being disappointed when you have paid a substantial amount is just not an option. Problem solved, at Wine By One, wine is served by the glass allowing everyone to take their pick also allowing you to try some of the finest bottles without having to pay for the whole 75cl. You can choose between 3 sizes of glass, sample, medium and large. It lets you be as reasonable or unreasonable as you want.
Icing on the cake? The shops offer quick lunch menus with pasta, salad and café gourmand and in the evenings a choice of meat and cheese platters to nibble on.
A great find!
