For today's post I am staying close to the City again. Last weekend I went to Spitafields Market for brunch as many Londonners do and i am taking this opportunity to write about it.
Much like Leadenhall Market Spitafield cannot be defined as a proper market any more. By that I mean that you won't really find fruit and veg for sell. It has become a cultural centre with exhibitions and various events taking place all year round (concerts, festivals, tango classes, fashion shows). In terms of 'market activity' as opposed to the proper shop activity it has up to 110 stalls on its busiest days, selling clothes, jewellery, small leather goods, bestpoke children toys, ect... It is a real pleasure to stroll around you are not at risk of getting wet as Crispin place is partly protected by a large roof ceilling.
You will no doubt enjoy the home interior shops which are cutting edge & modern as well as the various gift shops selling many British stylied objects. If you spend any time in the UK you will find that the British (of all age which makes it even odder for the rest of us!) just love dressing up! For students it is a regular accurance as they do not really need an occasion but around Halloween time the Spitafields costume shops are litterally stromed as they are amongst the best in town!
After all that shopping reward yourself with a brunch at The breakfast Club (oder the berry pancakes they are simply outstanding!)
