Well this was... Incredible! This is one of those places for which you read reviews, go on websites to look at the pictures and pretty much do everything you can to get a feel for it. And yet when you get there you are still swept off your feet. What a scenery. At start we were sat in the downstairs gallery which overlooks Charles's bridge. I can only imagine how pleasant it must be on a cold winter evening to enjoy a delicious meal in a warm and romantic atmosphere. However we dined on a warm summer night so we managed to get a table outside on the Terrace... Magic, simply Magic. I was far from thinking that the real magic had not started yet! We were celebrating a birthday so we ordered the 5 course tasting menu. I would not normally write about my supper in such detail on this blog but in this occasion I will so you can get a feel for how outstanding the courses were.
We did not try the wines since they had a vast selection of wines a la carte. The foie gras was probably on of the better ones I have had, no offence to Helene Darroze. Being French I am slightly chauvinistic when it comes to food and always believe that only the French could cook French food to perfection... I know have revised this statement!
