This weekend I am taking you to the South East of France, first stop: Le 7. What a fine place! Located on the gastroroute Nationale nr7 which gave its name to the restaurant, Le 7 is a 'must eat at' if you are travelling in the beautiful region of Valance! The Pic family have been running the culinary french scene for over a century now. The latest person in charge, Anne Sophie Pic has earned herself international recognition with the 3 Michelin stars awarded to Le Restaurant Pic (next door to le 7). Despite such fame she has stayed close to home, the region where it all began for the family. Le 7 is a great example of adapting cuisine Provencal to the modern taste. The place is gorgeous, modern and light, with large open windows and furniture declining different shades of grey and red in reference to what could be called the french route 66! When the weather allows it (most of the time in southern France) enjoy a tasty lunch from the set menu with a glass of wine from the region under the large lime trees of the Patio offering a welcome shade. Que la vie est douce dans le sud!

(Judging by the quality of her bistrot I would recommend a stay at her hotel and fine dinning at Le Pic for those willing to afford it)
and what did you have???
